Adirupa joined Common Purpose in 2001 as Programme
Director in London, subsequently moving to the East Midlands as
Regional Director. She then focused on international development;
launching and growing Common Purpose in India, Ghana and Hong Kong
and supporting the start-up in Turkey. Prior to becoming Chief
Executive of Common Purpose Asia Pacific, she was Chief Executive
of Common Purpose UK.
She has over the years launched some key initiatives for Common
Purpose; the About Time campaign (aimed at increasing the number of
people holding public appointments from the three under-represented
strands across the UK of women, people from ethnic minorities and
people with disabilities), and the Dishaa and Dao Xiang programmes.
She currently leads CSCLeaders, which is the renewal of the
Commonwealth Study Conferences - for the 21st century - and a
partnership between Common Purpose and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh's
Commonwealth Study Conferences (UK Fund).
Adirupa brings passion, energy and commitment to developing
cross-cultural relationships and has extensive knowledge and
experience of working across different countries, cities and
cultures to help leaders learn through experiences in order to
tackle complex problems and develop their ability to work
Prior to Common Purpose, she worked as a Consultant with the
Morgan Chase Group in the City of London and as a Consultant to the
Indian Council for Research in International Economic Relations in
Adirupa was born in India. She read for an MPhil in
International Relations at St. John's College, University of
Cambridge. She is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School's High
Potential Leadership Programme.
